Plume
Doll by Al Goulet
from... Worcester, MA

I am a original creation Bird of Paradise designed by Arley Berryhill.... this is my daughter " Plume" isn't she beautiful... she was always attracted to shiny things... so she thought it would be fun to play in the sequins and see how many she could stick on herself.. then she found this wonderful bouquet of flowers , and thought.. hmmmmmmmmm smells pretty... so she decided to nest there for awhile and enjoy the scenery.
I hope you like me and put a little vote... Thank you Darlin.......... I'm Northern Belle but full of Southern charm ;-)

With a gesso foundation, I used acrylic paints for the mouth and checks.

Sugar
Doll by Heather Harris
from... Pass Christian, MS

This is Sugar. She is created using a simplicity vintage pattern 9525. She was made with luxury fleece, safety eyes, soft cotton eyelashes, a fun cotton print outfit, stuffed with poly-FIL, and sculpted with embroidery floss. She is fully washable, snuggleable, and dressable. She is so soft. She cannot wait for nightime cuddles.

Jack T. Rabbit
Doll by Heather Harris
from... Pass Christian, MS

He is made of fun-fur, poly-FIL, a dapper hand-made velvet vest, and store bought hat and glasses. I used Vogue 7138, changing up the vest, giving him different ears, and trimming his face different and sculpting it. He has a hand embroidered nose. His eyes are safety plastic grey eyes- yes they are there but no matter how I took the pictures they wouldn't show very well, However, it does add to his mystery. He has a little jazz to him, maybe a little steam punk. Overall, he is soft, fun and loveable, right down to that fuzzy bunny tail and humongous furry feet.

Dottie the Dachshund
Doll by Jackie Smith
from... United Kingdom
|
|

My animal's name is Dottie the dachshund. Sheis made from a tweaked pattern by Delia Cecil. I made her in soft fleece, the colours I chose were the colours that attract babies.
She's easy to hold, no loose buttons or eyes. I made her tail extra long so the child can drag her around. The ears have a tactile silky underside. The children can learn their colours and to count the dots. So she's educational and cuddly.
Dottie loves children, she likes to play in the garden with you, she will play hide and seek and roll the ball. You can give her a cuddle. Not sure about being pulled along by the tail but she won't bite..

Boris
Doll by Jackie Smith
from... United Kingdom

My bears name is Boris, he's made from SEW LOVELY KEEPSAKES.
He's looking forward to the World Cup football in June, he's wearing world flags. He has buttoned joints and has buttons in red and blue down his body. I painted his boots to look like a leather. I've entered the intermediate class because I haven't got up to the standard of the designers. I don't make complete patterns, I tweak the ones I've bought.

Garden Bunny
Doll by Diana Neill
from... Ontario, OR

This adorable, cuddly Garden Bunny is a Tilda pattern from Tone Finnanger's book "Crafting Springtime Gifts." I chose Osnaburg for a vintage look. I love the loose weave and speckles that the fabric has. She has a cute dress and matching pantaloons (also a Tilda pattern). Her dress is decorated with pink flower-shaped buttons. The bottom edge of the dress and pantaloons are trimmed with a simple leaf-like decorative stitch. I chose to use the same fabric on the insides of her ears, as for the outfit.
I love the vintage-looking wild-life fabric with soft pastel colors. Her ears are bendable, with wires inside them. Her eyes and nose are hand-stitched. Her cheeks are lightly blushed. I added strands of sisal for her whiskers. She stands about 15 inches tall (not including her ears). Her carrots and carrot seed package comes from a pattern by Old Road Primitives on Etsy. The carrots are made of Osnaburg, and then painted. They have real foliage stems. She is all ready for springtime in the garden!

Juss Duckie
Doll by Teresa Petrino
from... Greenwich, Ct.
|
|

I made this duck from the pattern "Jimmy's Ducks" from Soft Dolls and Animals (July 2012) magazine, by Arlene Cano. The duck is repurposed from the wrong side of an old sweatshirt. I used white yarn for his hair and orange felt for his beak and legs. He measures approx. 9", sitting. I love how his character came to life as I was working on him. I decided to give him some glasses, so I shaped colored wire into frames that would suit him. Since he seems to be a really happy duck I decided to give him a rose to hold. I made the rose from the "Stem Rose" pattern, by Fox Stitch Design on Ravelry. He is also surrounded by his friendly flock of duck pals that come from a "Claw" game.

I made this bear from "Ol' timer bear" a design, by Chanelle Reid. The bear measures approx. 6" sitting; approx. 8.5" standing. It is made of honey plush felt that is thicker than ordinary felt. It is soft and combs out nicely. His paw pads are from regular felt, in dark brown. I used 6 mm safety eyes over white felt for the eyes and a brown pastel pencil to shade him in a little, in certain areas. I used embroidery thread to give him an aged look. The origami butterfly on his paw, I made. It is from www.fabartdiy.com.

Misha & Micah
Doll by Kelly Miller
from... Lilly, Pa.

My animal dolls are a set of monkeys. Their names are Misha & Micah. I created them using the pattern "Danny G" by DinkyBaby. I followed the pattern with a few adaptions including adding tails, larger ears & I also made the dolls larger. The eyes are embroidered & the bodies are made with velour fabric. I needle sculpted the fingers & toes. Misha has goldish colored eyes & Micah's eyes are dark brown. I created the clothes for both dolls, Misha is wearing a simple dress topped with an apron, knee length bloomers & a headband with a bow attached. Micah is wearing knee length shorts with straps attached & a shirt with a bowtie.
