Little Baby Rose
Doll by Keera Sama
from... Quebec, Canada

This sweet little baby girl is modeled after my daughter Scarlett Rose, the doll has long skinny legs and round cheeks just like she did! I made this doll with organic cotton interlock, she is stuffed with polyfill and slightly weighted with poly pellets that allow her to sit up on her own. She has posable limbs that are button jointed. I hand sculpted her face and body, her face is hand embroidered and blushed with coloured pencil. She is wearing a store bought onesie and store bought socks that my daughter actually wore when she was a newborn! I knitted her pink bonnet by hand and her drool bib is sewn by me. The little blanket she is cuddling is store bought and was also used by my daughter as a newborn! I designed and made the pattern for this baby myself, after lots of trial and error. I re-made this baby doll's head 3 times before I was happy with it! The doll can wear true preemie sized clothing. I had a lot of fun with this challenge and I'm happy I found this site!

Tiny Baby Turquoise
Doll by Keera Sama
from... Quebec, Canada

This tiny baby is smaller than preemie sized. She is sewn with cotton muslin and stuffed with poly-fil, her body is sculpted only at the knees, belly button, and elbows. I've hand embroidered her face, and blushed her with fabric paint. The pattern is made by me. Her arms are string jointed and her legs bend only at the top of the thighs. I made her headbands and onesie myself (the onesie even has working snaps!) Her little cloth diaper is store bought. I made this baby pattern this small size so that my children could easily carry her around and snuggle her!

I made this Bare Baby (pattern by Judi Ward) while visting my grandmother with my new "real" baby and husband. Gramma and I had such a good time creating the Bare Baby Doll. I wanted her to be my real babies first doll and my "real" baby, Gracie loves her...

Jasmine Alay
Doll by Theresa Morano
from... East Amherst, NY

Meet Jasmine Alay! Jasmine is only the second baby doll I have made. She is of my own design and pattern. This was my first time using this pattern. The outfit is also of my own design and was made without using any patterns. Jasmine is completely hand sewn as are her cloths-no sewing machines used! Her body is made from a nude bathing suit material. Her face, limbs, and body are all soft sculpted. I used rice to weigh down the body for a more realistic feel. This doll is fully jointed with plastic joints to make it easier to pose her. This was my first time jointing a doll. Her wig is made from faux fur and was stitched securely onto her head. This was my first time making a fur wig for a doll. Her head needs to be supported like a real baby. I inserted into her chest a little stuffed red heart for a nice little added touch.
Jasmine Alay is a two month old baby girl. She loves sleeping and being held. She also loves to cuddle with her favorite blanket which was a gift from her Mom's friend.

This doll, her clothes, and the chair are made by me without a pattern. Her hair is yarn. Her hands are a knit fabric, and her head is muslin. Mimi's PJ's are fleece. The chair is made out of balsa wood and plaster strips.
Mimi Li is ten months old and doesn't like to get her picture taken. She'll sit still for it but she won't smile.

Mady
Doll by Jenny McComber
from... Keller, TX

This is baby Mady. She is made from Jennifer Carson's Lil' Bedheads pattern. Her hair is made from yarn. For body fabric, I search thrift stores for velour sweatpants. I like the idea of utilizing something old to create something new. This material is so soft and snugly! Her clothes are from a thrift store too.

Johny
Doll by Holli Steinborn
from... Meridian, ID

I started my doll making journey about a year ago with reading anything and everything about dolls and drawing out patterns. I've made small stuffed animal dolls for my niece but nothing beyond painted detail.
Meet Johny, he is a Waldorf inspired doll of my own creation. He is completely machine washable made from a cotton T-shirt I hand dyed and polyester filing. Johny is proportioned to the size of a premie. He is the perfect size for small children.
Johny is the second doll I've made with needle sculpted features. I was inspired to make him when my mom tossed out old dolls she had for her daycare. He has 10 fingers, 10 toes, a belly button and a needle sculpted bottom. Johny enjoys spending his days at Grandma's with her daycare kids. He gets lots of attention from her little girls who snuggle and play with him daily. Johny has just started to open his eyes and enjoys laying on his back looking around.
