Clementyme the Baby Giant

This is Clementyme the abandoned baby giant. She was found in the woods by a carpenter and his wife. Seems, that while the clan of Giants in that region are on the smaller end of the race, some believe at some point in history they mixed with a local troll clan which in turn gave them their smaller size and somewhat pointed ears, they still pride themselves with being Giants so often times the runts born (most times little girls) are abandoned. Clementyme, while only being a week old, has all the motor skills of a human one year old and is wearing 6-9 months clothes.

Clementyme is from my own original pattern. I used craft velour for her body and her limbs are cotter pin jointed. Her hair is a faux fur wig I made. She is wearing real baby clothes in the 6-9month size and her feet are way too big for baby shoes lol. You will see her trying to figure out why she cannot wear a pair of toddler shoes in one of her photos.

Special Mention by Voters.  Why...

The idea of a baby Giant is wonderful and very different

This doll shows how much promise this doll maker has. Her skill is evident in how she has interpreted the features of the doll.

This is a doll you WANT to hug.

I'm hoping this doll maker decides to produce patterns.

Sweet. Love her story.

I just think this lady did a great job on her non human doll it is just too cute and i don't usually like these kinds of dolls but this one is great.

Galin

The doll's name is Galin, baby gargoyle, created by Shelly Hawkey. I bought the pattern from Dollmakers Journey.  I used pipecleaners in his ears , fingers and tail to make them poseable. I sewed on his legs and tail and hot glued his arms, ears, and wings, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

I soft sculted his face and although it's not great I think it's ok. I used black beads for the eyes and added a bit of white paint to it.

This is Mary, she is a very loveable bay that loves to show off!

She was made from pattern by Vickie Riley.
She is about 24 inches tall and made from Craft velour and Windsor Comfort.

Her outfit was made from a real baby onesie. She also wears a real disposeable diaper.

TRUDY

This little Troll/Elf/Hedgehog doll with her pear, brought back fond memories of my childhood in Germany. We used to go into the woods weekly to gather wood and we were always aware of the little Forest People and I am sure we saw them many times lol. Trudy (named after my German cousin), is wearing a dress I made out of my hand painted fabric. The fabric looked woodsy to me with all the shades of green. She has berries and leaves in her yarn hair and big buttons and berries on her dress. The face is colored in with crayon, pencil and pen and ink. I couldn’t bear to put shoes on those precious feet.

The pattern is by Judi Ward.

Fledgling Fairy

Fledgling Fairy was created from Jennifer Carson's Pea Pod Baby Fairy Pattern. Fledgling is made from "recycled" thrift store fabrics. His body is from a camel hair jacket, his wings from a silk blouse. The "onesie" he is wearing is from the thrift store, as well, and set the theme for his creation as it is patterned with birds and nests. His companion was made from a piece of a sweater sleeve with needle felted embellishment. Fledgling's eyes, eyebrows, and hair are made of needle felted wool.

He makes me smile!

Snoozie

Shhhhh... Little bedbug is so sleepy. She is just drifting off and seems to be having sweet dreams about whatever it is bedbugs love to do. I think she just loves to be in bed all snuggled up.

Her name is Snoozie. She is 12" long with her bent legs. Her pattern designer is Shelley Hawkey of Abra Creations. She has been a delight to create. I followed Shelley's pattern, including needle sculpting. I chose to make a little girl. I learned to do things I have never done, work with faux fur, sew on snaps, make the wings. So much fun. I have shown her sitting on the edge of a table since she is a shelf sitter but just so posable and fun she can be placed anywhere. I used tiny pink buttons and snaps on her bum flap so it can be closed. Under her hat, there is a small pink fleece that matches her PJ's over the center of her wings. She does have details in her little mouth, tongue etc.

Special Mention by Voters.  Why...

I thought this little bedbug fairy was just beautiful, made you want to pick her up, facial expression, sculping, painting is great, Well Done!!!

So unique and well done.

Booboo

I named my little troll baby "Booboo". This is my first attempt at needle sculpting and I had a lot of fun. I created a little rattle using a seed pod from a potpourri mix and polymer clay. I fashioned the diaper from a picture of a fig leaf using wool felt. The diaper is stuffed with moss for absorbency, just in case Booboo decides to let loose. The little head is weighted so needs to be supported just like a human baby.
