Eden & Edina 19"

Doll by Alex T. Danso
from... Rutland, England

(They are new every morning) Alex Cloth dolls

Eden & Edina were originally designed for this show. Clothing: Shoes, Shirts, pinafore suit, tie and wig were also originally designed and self-made for this show.

The two pairs are twins with wonderful curious yet sweet faces. They are open arm dolls; although, they can place their arms beside them, they are simply saying welcome; hugs! Eden & Edina are children who believe that, as children they deserved some welcoming environment.

Mia-- a 2 year old girl

Doll by Kathy Jeffries
from... West Yorkshire, United Kingdom

I made Mia from a combination of a Judi Ward pattern for a baby doll but increased the size & also gave her a different head & face. I also changed the body shape so essentially the arms & legs are from an original Judi pattern although bigger but the the rest is of my own design. I used a flesh colour stretch fabric called Scuba for the doll & then I painted her face freehand with acrylic paint, colour pencils & fine liner pens. Her cheeks are normal blusher.

Her dress & matching pants are polycotton fabric made from my own design in a bright cherry print to celebrate our mild but wet summers in the UK & consequently the lovely soft fruit that we produce. Her hair is constructed completely with knitting yarn & sewn & glued into place. Her shoes & socks are 0-3 month size, purchased from a baby clothes shop.

This is my very first attempt at face sculpting so I decided not to try too much & just sculpt her mouth & chin.

Her face is hand painted using acrylic paints. Her hair is needle felted curly mohair. She wears a patriotic dress that I designed and constructed. Her shoes are painted with acrylics.
