Snuggles
Doll by Tove Edens
from... Ontario, Canada

"Snuggles" is a sweet 17" baby doll created from the pattern "Universal Toddler" by Gloria J. "Mimi" Winer. By changing the size of the head and the legs compared to the body, the pattern went beautifully from being a toddler to a baby. Mimi's instructions are wonderful, easy to follow and the results are very satisfying.
Look at Snuggles and you'll see she has a sculpted tummy and chest. Her back is sculpted in the same manner. The little upturned nose and pointed baby chin are pompoms tucked under the skin. Even the mouth has been sculpted into a shy little smile. The adorable little head is topped off with a doll wig.
Snuggles is wearing a pair of doll tights and frilly panties especially made for her.
"Lollipup", a ty Beanie Baby gets lots of cuddles.

Gracie Mae Rose
"Our little fighter"
Doll by Jacqueline Johnson
from... Fremont, Ohio

I made Gracie for a family member who's baby had to come early. I used Sandy Eding's Preemie Doll Pattern for a 32 week preemie. Her body is weighted 3lbs 12oz. and is 14 1/5 in. long. Her hands are wired so they can be posed. She has finger nails and toe nails. Her mouth is open and can take a pacifier or her own thumb. She also has a flashing heart. Completely hand sculpted from head to toes.
There is no need for Gracie to be clothed as she has spent a lot of time in the NICU. and in there clothing gets in the way. Gracie's story begins on December 19, 2014 when she had to be delivered early. She was not due until Feburary 12, 2015. Gracie was born 3lbs 12oz and 14 1/5 in long and with complete heart block. She was taken to the childrens hospital for long term care. She needed to grow and get stronger to receive a pacemaker. After many long and scarey days and nights Gracie is geting stronger and i am glad to report she is getting ready to go home any day now.

Lisa
Doll by Sylvie LECLERCQ
from... FRANCE

The pattern of this doll is mine. My pattern is based on newborn Alice pattern by Judi Ward and the preemie pattern by Sandy Eding.
This doll is a newborn and is made with velour and has a fleece 'under-skin', so the doll is softer and strong. She has plastic joints at arms and hips. The face which is embroidered, the toes, the nipples and belly-button are needlesculpted. The fingers are articulated with chenille stems and she has an opposable thumb. She has a wobbly head. She wears real baby cloth.
This babydoll is a demonstration doll and is weighted with sand and steel microbeads. The weight is carefully distributed. The rest of the doll is stuffed with kapok and polyester fiberfill. This doll can take real baby positions and feels like a real one ! I made several of them and each time, I try to improve it.

Baby Paige
Doll by Teresa Petrino
from... Greenwich, Ct

Baby Paige is 9 months old.
She loves anything related to bunnies and is happiest the most when wearing her white sleeper. Her mommy, then, puts her bunny ears on. Paige loves to resemble her toy bunny, Sunny.
Her hair is growing in nicely. As you can see, she is a very happy baby and she has become most cooperative at changing time.
I made this doll from the pattern- Penny- designed by Marilyn Jensen(Springtime Designs). The doll is 4-way jointed and measures aprox. 16". I used velour fabric for the doll. I created my own fur wig to give the doll more hair, and made the sleeper from the pattern, using a recycled receiving blanket. The bunny ears/headband, I designed to match the sleeper. The diaper I made from a piece of flannel cut into a diaper shape with a serged zigzag stitch all around the edges. Velcro was added to keep it securely on the doll. Acrylic paints and fabric markers were used for the eyes. Blush was added to appropriate spots on the doll.

Baby Annie
Doll by Teresa Petrino
from... Greenwich, Ct

Ode to the baby doll-
Pattern
parts scattered-
not together as one,
Her creator now wonders-
Where is the fun?
Dolly's dreams shattered -
-While in pieces she stays.
Her creator retorts -
"Maybe one of these days."
The doll looks sad, but her creator is aware-
And starts ......
-putting her together
What an urgent affair!
As pieces get joined and the doll becomes one,
She is the cutest 'real doll'
The creator has done.
- poem by Me (Baby Annie Dollmaker)
This 9 month old baby doll is created from the pattern- Annie- designed by Rainie Crawford in 1977. She measures approx. 10". I used stretchy doll fabric for the sewn doll pieces, and I painted the face with acrylic paints. I used fake fur fabric and the designer's pattern for her wig. I used a little blush just for her cheeks. The clothes and shoes were made also by me, from Rainie's pattern. The little, 1 3/4", crocheted bear prop, I made from my own pattern. Only the doll socks were purchased.

|

This is my baby doll Jenny. She is six months old. She loves to be hugged and cuddled and played with all day long.
Jenny is 14" long. She is made from a stretch knit fabric and stuffed with premium polyester fiberfill. Her face is painted with non-toxic acrylic paints. She is hand sculpted and very soft. Jenny has no hair, but has a cute little bonnet made by me, and a fleece triangle diaper.
Jenny's head is made from a very old pattern that I have altered. I could not find a designer name on this pattern. Her body is made from a Miss Martha's Originals pattern that I have also altered a little. She is just right for little ones to hold.
